Theodora Holmes : Troy Polamalu’s Wife

Former American football strong safety who played his entire twelve-year career for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL, Troy Polamalu’s wife is the beautiful Theodora Holmes. Troy played college football for the University of Southern California (USC), and earned consensus All-American honors. He was a member of two of the Steelers’ Super Bowl championship teams, and was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2010.

When did the couple meet?

Troy and her wife Theodora have a long history together. They first met when Theodora’s brother and Troy’s teammate, Alex Holmes introduced them. Both of them were at USC at that time. They dated for a long time. In 2003 when Troy was drafted, the couple moved to Pittsburgh. They got engaged in 2004 and finally rang the wedding bells in January, 2005.

These two love birds married according to the Greek Orthodox Religion. It was because of Theodora and her family’s faith. After marriage, Troy became a devout Greek Orthodox and both believe that their faith is one of the things that has made their marriage so strong and successful.

They are blessed with two children, both boys, Ephraim and Paisios. Paisios was born on October 31, 2008 and Ephraim September 16, 2010. Troy announced the birth of their youngest child, Ephraim, on his Twitter account.

Knowing Mrs. Polamalu

Theodora comes from a football family. Her father is Mike Holmes, former University of Michigan football standout, Mike Holmes, and as we told earlier her brother is former NFL tight end, Alex Holmes. 27-year-old Theodora Holmes was born in California to parents Mike Holmes and Katina Holmes, of Greek descent.

A sneak peak into their life

Troy and theodora are deeply in love with each other. Once someone asked Troy who is his celebrity crush and he replied, “My wife Theodora!”. Relationship goals.

They also do a lot of charity work together. They work for charities like FOCUS North America which helps the needy. The couple also works for The Harry Panos Fund in honor of Theodora’s grandfather who was a WWII veteran.

One recent incident worth telling is when Troy had to spend $10,000.00 dollars on a phone call to his wife. During a game against the Jaguars, Troy took a hit and had to leave the field because of that. In the moment, he was handed a phone by team doctor and he called his wife to let her know he was ok. But as we all know that phone are prohibited on the field during matches, he was slapped with a $10,000.00 fine. Money well spent! After all who else in this world would you inform that you are fine apart from your wife.

Troy bid farewell to football on March 10, 2015. In his farewell speech he said, “Maybe it was a sign for me to retire when I chase my kids around and couldn’t catch them. It was either a sign for me to retire or a sign for them to begin training.

The family currently lives in Pittsburgh during football season, and in San Diego, California during the off season.
