American professional basketball player Ray Allen’s wife is Shannon Williams Walker. Ray is currently a free agent and has previously played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Seattle SuperSonics, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has also won an Olympic gold medal as a member of the 2000 United States men’s basketball team.
His beautiful wife Shannon doesn’t need an explicit introduction because she is also a known face in the world. She is an actress, TV Producer, and much more!
The couple first met when Shannon was in I was in a girl group. It was coffee, Coca Cola, and chicken wings. They used to record in the graveyard shits at that time, as it was a cheaper alternative. They met in 1996, the night before Shannon’s group’s first single was going to be released in the stores. She was out partying with her friends, when Ray saw her. The first thing he told Shannon was that he was going to be drafted, to which Shannon replied if they were were going to a war. We can say that Shannon was pretty naive on sports related matters! Ray then told her that he was going to be drafted in NBA. That’s how their first conversation went. Later they again at a party at the mirage. The couple talked for a long time, and there was when all the magic started!
They dated for a long time and the couple got married at a private home in Martha’s Vineyard on August 16, 2008. The R&B singer Brian McKnight, who was also Ray’s friend, sang “Never felt this way” at couple’s entrance. They have three children together – Tierra, Walter Ray, and Walker, and one daughter from Ray’s previous relation.
Shannon Allen was born on November 15, 1974 to Jeannie Williams and William Williams. She studied music at Northeastern University and was a singer in the Motown group “Shades”. Shannon has also been part of some movies, namely As the World Turns, Strangers With Candy, Bamboozled, and Girlfight, and has made guest appearance on Sex and the City. She also owns an independent music label, New Music Chronicles, and carries her passion in music.
In 2008, their son Walker was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, when he was just 17 months old. He though recovered from the trouble, Ray and Shannon took it very seriously. From that day, the whole family follows a strict healthy schedule at home. They even founded “Ray of Hope Foundation” which works in spreading awareness about diabetes. The foundation works actively for juvenile diabetes research and support.
Ray also owns a food chain called “Grown” for whom he says that the driving force was Shannon. As we all know that diabetes can be controlled with healthy food and lifestyle habits, Shannon got this idea of opening a food chain that offers healthy organic meals because of his son’s health condition. She says that there are very few joints that offer healthy food.
