The very famous and beautiful American sportscaster, Heidi Watney’s husband is Mike Wickham. This 35 year old beauty is a host and reporter for MLB Network. She is a graduate of the University of San Diego. Her past sportscasting experience includes roles at New England Sports Network in Boston, Time Warner Cable SportsNet in Los Angeles, and two stations in Fresno.
Let us first get to know a little bit more about Heidi before getting to know her husband. Watney attended Clovis West High School in Fresno. She was into sports since her school time and participated in many sports like hurdles, diving, gymnastics, and cheerleading. This beauty with brains was a National Merit Scholar and attended the University of San Diego on an academic scholarship. The multi-talented Watney has also been the first runner-up in Miss California pageant 2002. She was also seen in the music video of Drop Murphys “Going out of Style” where she stole the show.
Before getting married to Mike, Heidi’s name has been linked to then-Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek. The rumors were so strong that many believe that Varitek’s first marriage ended because of this affair. Heidi was working for NESN at that time. Later Jason’s second wife, Catherine, came to Watney’s defense and took those rumors down when posed the question on Twitter few years back.
Now coming to the man of the topic, we can safely say that Mike Wickham is one of the luckiest former baseball executive. Mike Wickham is a native of Stockton and graduated from Lincoln High in 1993. He is the son of Stockton attorney Shelley Green graduated in 1997 with a BS in accounting from North Park University. Mike started his career back in 2002. During the tenure he was the assistant director of the San Diego Padres. Later, he was honored with minor league operation and afterwards he was declared as the director of the baseball operation of The Miami Marlins LLC in 2010.
The couple got married on New Year’s Eve on December 31, 2014 in Edgewater, New Jersey. Both of them seemed madly in love with each other during the ceremony, and why not? It was indeed one of the most romantic and important day of their life. After the fairy tale wedding night, Mike treated his wife to an amazing honeymoon in Bora Bora, which is believe us, one of the most exotic places on this planet. The couple’s honeymoon lasted a total of ten days. Two months later the two families went for another vacation to Nevis Island in Caribbean. Nevis is an exclusive island with only about 12,000 people living on it.
Nowadays both of Mike and Heidi are busy promoting their sports ‘Baseball’ through their Instagram and Twitter handles. Heidi is not just a sportstar but she has generous heart too. She has done some charity events in Boston with the David Ortiz Children’s Fund to help out kids get pediatric care. Mike is always there to support her wife in all her endeavors. Mike also knows Sam Ryan, a fellow MLB Network lady, because Heidi is good friends with her.
